A blessed Ash Wednesday. It marks the start of Lent…a holy season of fasting, intense prayer and almsgiving. A time to be more focused on the Lord…to meditate on His Passion and Death…to prepare us to celebrate His glorious Ressurection. Repent and believe in the Good News.

At what time of the year do we celebrate LOVE? Most might think of February, but not many would think of Holy Week. And why not Lent? This is how God showed His love among us: He sent His one and only Son into the world that we might live through Him… an atoning sacrifice for our sins. Holy Week Reflection: What is Christian Maturity?

-It is silence when our words would hurt;
-It is patience when we’re being hurt;
-It is deafness when scandal flows;
-It is thoughtfulness for another’s woes; -It is sharing whatever little we have; &
-It is being kind rather than being right most of the time.

In this world, Someone stands behind; silently loving us; reaching out a hand when we’ve fallen; encouraging us when we’re tested and in fear; understanding us when no one does; pointing us the light when we are in the dark…

Let this season of LENT remind us all that this life we have and the material possessions we hold are just being LENT to us. We’re all passersby. We’re not immigrants here. We’re all pilgrims on the road. We bring nothing when we die. But we can leave behind the love we’ve shared, the hope we have given and the goodness we’ve done. May we all have a meaningful HOLY WEEK. GOD BLESS.

Lent is not an effort to save ourselves.. we have been saved by Jesus’ ONE and PERFECT sacrifice. Rather, it is part of our journey, the continuum, the falling in love, staying in love, growing in love with God.

This is the day the Lord has made, and each hour will be blessed if you ask Him for the strength to do your very best.

Whatever path you follow, He’ll be walking by your side, to be your source of comfort, Your Friend and constant Guide.

The Lord is understanding, His mercy will not fail, His love for you is infinite, His wisdom will prevail.

Remember this each morning and you’ll not be afraid to face with growing confidence The Day The Lord Has Made.
